Vanleles Launches New Haute Couture Collections

Today saw jewellery designer, Vania Leles, launch an exquisite collection of fine jewellery, including a special collaboration with Gemfields, the world’s leading supplier of responsibly sourced colored gemstones. Vania Leles, the woman behind VanLeles, whose fine jewellery is showcased via her exquisite Bond Street atelier, brings her extensive industry experience and unique background to her latest collections. Having studied Gemology and Jewellery Design at one of the world’s most reputable institutions, GIA, Vania’s meticulous attention to detail is evident in her work with a number of prestigious design houses, including Graff De Beers and Sotheby’s.

For her latest creations, Vania has launched three collections that pay tribute to her African heritage.

For the Gemfields ‘Legends of Africa’ collection, she honors two unconventional figures in 19th century history, Dido Elizabeth Belle and Sarah Forbes Bonetta, two black women who, in remarkable twists of fate, entered into British royalty. The strength of both women inspired Vania to create this capsule collection, each showcasing diamonds, 18 carat white and blackened gold and fine quality Gemfields sourced Zambian emeralds. The collection includes chandelier cascade earrings, an asymmetrical V-shaped collar necklace and ring, as well as a cutting edge cross-shaped ring and cuff that wrap elegantly around its wearer.

‘Legends of Africa’ reverently highlights Vania’s culture by responsibly sourcing all gemstones and fair mined gold used throughout her collections. Gemfields and VanLeles share a special affinity for philanthropy and safe mining, principles that are fundamental to both brands.

Vania’s endless imagination and fervor for intricate design are also evident in two additional collections that source inspiration from her heritage and memories growing up in Africa, the Zanzibar collection featuring fine paribas and Mussulo collection, which showcases sapphires and diamonds. The lush blues and turquoise of the sea are shown in the vibrant pariba gemstones while the sapphires and diamonds featured in the Mussulo collection are inspired directly by the peninsula of Luanda, the waves of the sea and the sultry, African moods so ingrained in Vania and her exquisite creations. In all of VanLeles’ latest collections, we see the romance of Vania’s culture in spectacularly crafted jewelry. The VanLeles collection is available at Moda Operandi.
