U.S. weekly chain store sales up 3%

According to reports by International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and Goldman Sachs, the U.S. weekly chain-store sales increased by 3 percent( from the period last year), and overall, retail sales were on an upswing as week to week sales improved by 2.6 percent from a decline in the previous period. The ICSC Research notes strong consumer fundamentals to exist, which could take lead to comparable store sales increasing by 2.5 percent to 3 percent for February. Further, ICSC has noted February to have favoured retail sales this year, going by the ‘weekly sales continuing to bounce back and forth with this past week trending upward’. It also noted that ‘the year-over-year results continue to improve and increase’.
