Top retailer and DTC sightholder choose ImaGem technology for branded cut diamonds

A major retailer and sight holder have selected ImaGem technology for certification of their branded cut diamond. The branded diamonds will be sold at select retail locations throughout the US and Canada starting this holiday season. Certification for this program has been successfully delivered in record time by Precision Gem Grading Laboratory (PGGL) of Philadelphia, PA. Using ImaGem technology, two breakthroughs have been achieved in this program. One, all grading is based on objective information obtained through ImaGem’s direct measurement technology. Two, for the first time single color, clarity and light behavior grades have been assigned to mounted diamonds without relying on laser inscription. These breakthroughs assure consumers that this special branded cut diamond meets the highest grading standards available today.

Traditionally retailers provide different certificates on 4Cs, light behavior and fingerprinting. In this case a special certificate has been designed to bring together all the grading information consumers need in a single document. The diamonds in this program have been digitally fingerprinted, which enables loss/fraud prevention tool for the consumers and trade members.

PGGL uses ImaGem’s direct measurement technology for accurate and repeatable diamond grading and ImaGem Lab Information System for fast turnaround and efficient operations. PGGL’s average turnaround time for certification is between 24-48 hours. “ImaGem’s technology and equipment provide accurate and repeatable grading, at the source be it a mine, a manufacturer, a wholesaler or a retailer,” said Dr. Lalit Aggarwal, chairman and founder of ImaGem. “Therefore it is now possible to set up grading centers at the source.
