Tiffany & Co. organised an exhibit entitled ‘A Brilliant Legacy,’ in Beijing, featuring its jewels from its archives and for the very first time in Beijing it displayed its 128-carat "Tiffany Diamond", reports say. This exhibit celebrated the 175th anniversary of the luxury retailer.

This is the only diamond named after Tiffany and the company notes it to be its greatest icon, reports say.

Sourced from the Kimberley diamond mine in South Africa, a 287.42-carat rough stone was subsequently acquired by Charles Lewis Tiffany who further cut it into a cushion-shaped brilliant stone of 128.54 carats and 82 facets, reports say. The Tiffany fancy yellow diamond was unveiled in 1878.

Marking the 175th anniversary of the retailer, the diamond was reset into a necklace studded with white diamonds weighing over 100 carats. The appearance of the diamond in China marks the company efforts in strengthening its presence in the country, reports add.
