VICENZAORO Dubai held a segment to showcase the exemplarary works in Italian jewellery with a dedicated exhibition called ‘The Italian Beauty’. The exhibition was held on April 23 and 24.

The presence and promotion of Italy at VICENZAORO Dubai is the result of a collaboration between the Ministry for Economic Development, ICE-Agency and VICENZAORO Dubai, to capitalize on and promote Made in Italy, and to facilitate Italian companies gain international reclaim in one of the world’s main luxury goods destinations. An official Italian pavilion is exhibiting at VICENZAORO Dubai.

“The collective and exhibition are part of a cohesive promotional project that the ICE–Agency has devised to boost internationalisation for Italian jewellery companies on the UAE market. Thanks to our collaboration with VICENZAORO Dubai, we consider that an official Italian Pavilion organised for this first edition of the Show to be an essential step in supporting and capitalising on the image of Made in Italy in a peak sector such as gold and jewellery, which is the top sector for exports to the Emirates, with a value of 1.2 billion euros for 2014 alone,” said Ferdinando Fiore, Italian Trade Commissioner in Dubai.

The Italian Beauty was held at the Ballroom of the Conrad Hilton Hotel, organised and promoted by ICE-Italian Trade Promotion Agency in conjunction with VICENZAORO Dubai. The exhibition was inspired by the theme of Italian beauty, which further draws inspiration from the Beauty Room – one of the main rooms in the Jewellery Museum in Vicenza, Italy. The curator of ‘The Italian Beauty’ is Alba Cappellieri, Professor in jewellery design at the Polytechnic University of Milan, one of Italy’s foremost jewellery experts, and also director of the Jewellery Museum.

Alba Cappellieri said, “The Exhibition showcases contemporary Italian jewellery according to its characteristics of “beautiful and well done”. We decided to bring some of the pieces inspired by one of the most beautiful rooms in Vicenza’s Jewellery Museum, the Beauty Room, where some of Italy’s most stunning products are on show.” She also added: “The Italian Beauty will only be showing necklaces. This is because the necklace is the centre piece of any set; it is the most important and the one that gives any collection its theme. In fact, it is the necklace that adorns the neck, emphasising a woman’s face and décolletage, sitting close to the heart, because it is to the heart that beauty can and must speak”.

The selection of 30 precious necklaces exhibited in Dubai expresses feminine beauty and different periods of production from prestigious Italian companies. It encompasses a wide variety of work in contemporary Italian jewellery: from the large maisons that have written the history of Italian jewellery, to more recently established designers.

VICENZAORO Dubai is slated between April 23-26.
