After a three-year period of transformation during which Tamara Comolli prepared the company and the brand for this decision, the esteemed designer and jewelry brand innovator has chosen to take a creative break. Sophia Friedl and Tobias Marquardt will jointly take over the duties of managing TAMARA COMOLLI Fine Jewelry. Both have extensive international experience in the luxury and retail industries.
Since 2018, Tamara Comolli and investor Guy Hands, founder of Terra Firma, one of Europe’s leading private equity firms, have been working together on the handover of the company to guarantee a smooth and seamless transition. “I am confident that all of the important strategic steps have been prepared in order to ensure our continued success. On May 1, 2021, Tobias Marquardt joined the company as co-CEO. Sophia Friedl will follow latest by August 1, 2021. Sophia Friedl has spent most of her professional career in family-owned luxury and fashion companies. She has fulfilled a variety of roles, serving as Retail Manager for Salvatore Ferragamo with overall responsibility for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the UK. Prior to that, she was Head of Retail at Roeckl, and managed business in the Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Greek, Romanian, US, and Canadian markets at Frey Wille until 2013. Tobias Marquardt is a seasoned luxury retail professional and has served as Vice President Retail at BestSecret/Schustermann & Borenstein, responsible for retail operations in Germany and Austria.
