PM Modi is invited to grace the auspicious inauguration
Surat Exchange to Launch in Spring 2023

Construction of the Indian diamond industry’s newest exchange, the Surat Diamond Bourse, better known as SDB, is complete. It is scheduled to launch officially in the spring of next year, around March or April 2023. The Bourse will cover 35.54 acres and house 4,500 offices spread across approximately 600,000 square meters.

Through a letter dated November 16, Vallabhbhai Patel, Chairman of the SDB Project and owner of Kiran Gems informed the members of the Bourse that the government had granted permission for the Bourse to become operational. Through the letter, he congratulated all the members for the successful completion of the grand Surat Diamond Bourse, and expressed his hope that the members would commence their business activities from the SDB in the first phase “with great joy and enthusiasm”. He further informed, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to inaugurate the bourse.”

Concluding the letter he cautioned the members about rumours. He wrote, “Various attempts were made by several negative people in the market to damage the precious image of the Surat Diamond Bourse.” He suggested that members should ignore rumours about pending work or about project delays or fears about it not being successful.
