South Africa’s Minister for Mineral Resources and K.P. Chair to speak at 35th World Diamond Congress

The 35th World Diamond Congress slated in Mumbai this October, will host Hon Ms Susan Shabangu, Minister of Mineral Resources, Republic of South Africa and Ambassador Gillian Milovanovic - Chair, Kimberley Process, delivering their views on key issues of concern to the participating delegates.

Their participation only underscores the importance that the WFDB and IDMA attach to issues related to proposals for changes in the Kimberley Process as well as broader issues like conflict diamonds, beneficiation etc that have been dominant themes for discussion within the industry over the last decade or so.

The World Diamond Congress is the bi-annual General Assembly of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA). It is being held in Mumbai, for the first time and is slated between October 14-17, 2012. It wiill be hosted by the Bharat Diamond Bourse and The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).
