Sotheby’s London sale amounted to $1.9 million

The recently held Sotheby’s London Fine Jewels sale generated $1.9 million, with a sale of 73 percent by lot and 77 percent by value. A diamond necklace traced back to the early 20th century, and crafted with two circular cut diamonds weighing 5.19 carats and 5.17 carats respectively, was the top lot and was sold for $88,922, which was in the limit of the pre-sales estimate.

The second top lot was a cultured pearl and diamond necklace designed by Cartier, bought for $83,696 (above its pre-sale estimate). The third top lot was a 5.63 carat brilliant cut diamond ring, bought for $81,954 which was within the pre-estimate sale price.
