Shiny gold object surprises archeologists at the Israel Antiquities Authority

A shiny gold object resembling a rolling pin and recovered in a Jerusalem cemetery had expert archeologists at the Israel Antiquities Authority baffled as to what it actually was, reports say. The object was recovered by a maintenance person who discovered this object hidden inside an ancient building. Assuming it may be a bomb, he intimated the bomb squad who ultimately after conducting a controlled explosion which did not damage the object established it was safe. The piece was handed to the Israel Antiquities Authority.

Confused as to what this really was, the team examined it to find out that the 8.5 kg object was coated in 24-carat gold. The Israel Antiquities Authority authorities were surprised at the object as it was something they have never seen before.

Pursuing to know what this object really is, the authorities put up a picture of it on the Israel Antiquities Authority facebook page and invited opinions from the public. After many varied versions of suggestions, one person’s explanation was convincing – that this was an object in ancient times used to give energy protection. It was used by people in healing like naturopaths and energy healers, and is called the 'Isis Beamer' named after the Egyptian goddess Isis known to be the goddess of medicine, nature, healing, as per Egyptian mythology, reports say.
