Second largest diamond recovered at Lulo

Lucapa Diamond Company recovered a 227 carat Type IIa D-colour gem from the Lulo Diamond Project’s new mining area 28, as per reports. The company noted this to be the 7th +100 carat diamond recovered to date from Lulo and the second largest at the mine; the first being of 404 carats.

The company noted that this is the mine has continued to demonstrate its ability to produce high-quality diamonds, following last year when it delivered the highest $ per carat prices from run of mine diamond production in the world, as per reports.
