Sarin launches GalaxyTM 1000 XL service

The latest service launched by Sarin Technologies Ltd. - GalaxyTM 1000 XL - broadens the range of rough diamonds that can be scanned for internal inclusion mapping purposes from just under 17mm on the existing systems to over 34mm.

The service allows rough diamonds weighing up to 180 carats, ( which is approximately eight times more in weight than diamonds scanned by the current systems), to be processed, so that all but exceptionally large stones can be scanned and mapped for internal inclusions.

Uzi Levami, Chief Executive Officer of Sarin commented, “The GalaxyTM 1000 XL provides a unique service to manufacturers by which to scan and map internal inclusions in all but the largest rough diamonds. This, in conjunction with the application of our AdvisorTM planning software will enable these unique, rare and expensive gems to be truly optimised for best value, based on Carat, Cut and Clarity. Automatic linkage to the StrategistTM and QuaserTM II green laser cutting system will further allow for optimal sawing and cutting, taking into account the GalaxyTM mapped inclusions, so as to protect these valuable stones to the utmost and their owners’ significant investment in them.”

With its qualification process completed, the first system has been installed in the Group’s service centre in Israel, with the second unit already shipped to Surat, India. Here, the new GalaxyTM 1000 XL will be part of the Sarin package of services including the GalaxyTM 1000 regular systems and the GalaxyTM 1000 HD (High Definition – up to VVS resolution) systems already in operation at these locations.

Pricing of the XL service will be dependent on the actual weight of the rough stone being processed and will be commensurate with the substantial added value provided by the system.

He further added, “We are proud to launch the GalaxyTM 1000 XL service concurrently in Israel and India, as this will expose it to the broadest possible scope of leading manufacturers in the industry. We expect this service will be of significant importance to the manufacturing industry, and plan to make it available in additional polishing centres later this year.”
