STPL Gets Prestigious FGI Award for its Pioneering Research in AI and Robotics

STPL has received this award in the category of Research in Science & Technology. The award was conferred to STPL in a gala function, by the Chief Guest, Shri Yogeshbhai Patel, Hon'ble Minister of State - Narmada, Urban Housing, Govt. of Gujarat. The award ceremony was held on 19th January 2021.

STPL has won this award for its revolutionary research and innovations in diamond processing, especially in the field of use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics. AI and Robotics are changing the way the global industries are operating. Especially in the post-COVID phase, these new technologies are proving crucial to keep the momentum amid strict regulations and adherence to the social distancing norms.

Diamond processing requires very high precision and error-free operations for greater yield. Addressing this need, STPL has developed the world's first robots for the diamond industry. The robots are designed to automatically feed in new diamonds to the laser machine. This immensely speeds up the process and helps in achieving much higher yields.
