The Indian Government has been regularly honouring the country’s soldiers, encouraging for their endeavours, but this was the first-of-its-kind where a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) joint hands with India’s first line of defence - Border Security Force in honouring the soldiers at the border.
Shree Govindbhai Dholakia, Founder and Chairman of SRKKF who is known for his philanthropic activities, stated that, “Till date I have carried out various projects in the areas of development, health and education in the society but have done very little for the soldiers who are working incessantly at the border. I am indebted to them for their valour and gallantry. Today it is time to express my gratitude to these soldiers. I am ever-ready to do whatever possible for the nourishment and protection of my motherland.”
The function will be inaugurated by Hon. Shree Haribhai Chaudhari, State Minister for Home Affairs, Government of India. Hon. Shree ShankarbhaiChaudhari, Minister of Transportation, Government of Gujarat, Hon. Shree Rajnibhai Patel, State Minister of Home, Government of Gujarat, Hon. Shree VijaybhaiRupani, BJP President, Gujarat State and Hon. Shree MansukhMandavia, Member of Parliament will remain present as Chief Guests while Shree K K Sharma, IPS, Director General, BSF and Shree Ajay Tomar, IPS, Inspector General, BSF will remain present as Guests of Honour. This function will become a milestone event in the history of honouring soldiers who remain pillars at our borders and protecting us any malaise.
There are around 18000 soldiers who are discharging their duties at the Gujarat-Rajasthan Border in Western India. This historic function is being organised under the guidance of of Shree Ajay Tomar, IPS, IG, BSF, Gujarat State.
SRK Knowledge Foundation has its own tradition to felicitate dignitaries who have contributed for the betterment of human lives. Now, SRKKF is moving decisively to honour soldiers who have exhibited valour and gallantry while protecting the boundaries of our Nation. All these Martyrs and soldiers will be honoured at the event.
Twenty Martyrs who have sacrificed their lives will be honoured by Hon. Shree RajnathSinghji giving them Certificate of Honor and a token sum of Rupees 51000 to their families. 16 soldiers who have exhibited extraordinary courage and valour while discharging their duties and continue doing so will also be felicitated with ‘SRK Indradhanush Honour’ by the dignitaries. Each of them will also be given Rupees 21000 as a token of honour. To aid these soldiers SRKKF will provide various medical equipements required at the border and a well-equipped ambulance service. Accessories for protection against the sun and dessert Sun Storm will also be provided including sun glasses along with mattresses. A RO water filter plant of 500 ltrs capacity and a total medical check-up of these 18000 Jawans of Nadabet Border will also be conducted.
