SRK Foundation conducts mass marriage ceremony for 291 girls

Marriage for any Family is like a feel of heaven. For Father, his daughter’s marriage is like turning of dreams into reality, which he is dreaming since the day his daughter is born. For a girl it is a hope as well as a new phase in life. But not all fathers can actually turn their dream into reality and not all girls hope get proper direction. This time SRK Foundation undertook the responsibility of doing both the things in a righteous way for 291 daughters. To Mark his 50 years in Diamond Industry, Govind Dholakia thought to fulfill 50 daughters’ dream to get married. However, in the process he identified more need for it and eventually raised the figure to 291.

On the 5th Day of Ram Katha i.e. on February 11, 2015, 151 couples of 291 got married under one roof. The couples were showered with the blessings from “Param Pujya Shree Morari Bapu”. The Event of mass marriage was completely sponsored by SRK Foundation. For all 151 Daughters, Govind Dholakia (Founder of SRK Foundation) acted as a fatherly figure and performed all rituals as per Indian tradition. Every Daughter was given A “Mangal Sutra” (An Ornament which defines a daughter as a complete married woman) made of gold with 100 diamond Studded in each, by Mr. Dholakia with a thought that the coming life of all 150 couple especially these 150 daughters fills with purity and also outshine like gold, the bond between the girl and in her In-laws remains as strong as diamonds for centuries.

The couples for the mass marriage were selected from all over Gujarat. The most commendable thing about this event during “Ram Katha” was that it was first time ever in the history of Hindu Religion where, inauguration of mass marriage ceremony was done by widows. It was a message to the society to come out of old and baseless beliefs.

On February 15, 2015, SRK Foundation will undertake mass marriage of remaining 140 couples of Patel Community with same rituals and traditions.
