Rio Tinto discovers largest pink rough diamond from Argyle mine

Rio Tinto recovered a 12.76-carat light pink colored rough diamond from the Argyle open-pit mine, a caliber which has been the first of its kind discovery since the 26 years of Argyle production, reports say. The mining giant is reported to have stated that such a discovery would be a rare sight in the future.

This rough stone will be cut and polished in Perth, after which it will be graded by a team of international experts. As reports suggest, the diamond will be named as the "Argyle Pink Jubilee". After it has been cut, polished and graded, it will be showcased and presented in the Argyle Pink Diamonds tender slated this year.
