Further to the recent announcement of two masterpieces created by Feng J, one of the world’s most exciting, contemporary jewellery artist-designers, Phillips proudly unveils additional highlights from the Jewels & Jadeite Hong Kong Sale. The sale will be held on 28 November at the JW Marriott hotel in Hong Kong, and livestreamed to bidders worldwide on Phillips.com and on the Phillips app.

A highlight of this season is a special collection curated with the inspiration of the ‘Five Elements’, which features 15 jewellery pieces mounted with precious gemstones that are the most befitting representations of the Five Elements – Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth – the ancient Chinese ideology that is believed to be at the root of the universe and the reason for all connections and interactions.

Featuring 148 lots in total, this season’s Jewels & Jadeite auction will present an exquisite selection of sapphires, emeralds, rubies, colourless and coloured diamonds and natural pearls, alongside iconic signed pieces and unique designs by renowned jewellery houses including Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Bulgari, Boucheron, Tiffany & Co and Graff.

Graeme Thompson, Worldwide Head of Jewellery, Phillips, said: “ In addition to the exceptional, one-of-a-kind treasures created by the Chinese artist-jeweller Feng J to lead this season’s sale, we are excited to offer some of the world’s finest gemstones, including an incredibly rare and perfectly matched pair of unheated 16.89 and 13.71 carats ‘Royal Blue’ sapphires, and a pair of exceptionally clean, matching 3.34 and 3.03 carat unheated ‘pigeon’s blood’ rubies from Burma, both designed as magnificent earrings. We are also delighted to bring to life in jewellery  the Five Elements, a venerable cosmic philosophy in Eastern cultures, and extrapolate characteristics in both the literal and figurative sense to find a selection of best in class jewels for this special and never seen before curation.”
