The JJS-IJ Jewellers’ Choice Design Awards 2013 have been conceptualised with new features including: a new ‘Editor’s Choice Award’, a special set of award category – The Company Excellence Category for the retailers, distributors and manufacturers. A new price point has been introduced - above Rs. 20 Lakh for the category of Best Bridal Design. Well-experienced industry experts and prominent jewellers will be judging the second round- Judging by Jury. Also, this year it is expected to set a new benchmark of highest votes.
The process of receiving entries starts today - July 1, 2013 and will continue until August 31, 2013. Voting will be done via two-way judging process. Firstly, it will be conducted through a dedicated website for the IJ Design Awards, ensuring transparency and fair judgment along with a lot of media coverage and market exposure for the winners. The scope of voting has increased – through computers, iPads and voting forms, to ensure maximum coverage of voters. Images of the entries will be uploaded on the website for viewing and voting from September 23, 2013.
In each category, top five designs will be chosen on the basis of maximum votes gathered. These five designs will be deemed finalists in the corresponding category and will then face the second round of Judging by Jury .The design which will earn the maximum number of jury votes will be the winner. The second round of judging will take place on November 30, 2013.
All the category award winners and finalists will be featured in IJ’s “Best of the Best” Jewellers’ Choice Award supplement, which will be mailed with the January 2014 issue of IJ. Also, all the category award-winning pieces will be featured in the December-January 2014 Issue of IJ. Winners will be announced in the Gala Awards evening on 20th December, 2013.
