Participation builds for BASELWORLD 2011

Preparations for BASELWORLD 2011 World Watch and Jewellery Show are gearing up to make it occupy pole position within the sector next spring too. The orgainsers of the show - MCH Swiss Exhibition (Basel) Ltd. are confident that the current number of registrations received and work on revamping the exhibition halls express the industry’s enthusiasm to attend and participate at the show.

The show is expected to host the industry's key brands including watch, jewellery and diamond, precious-stone and pearl suppliers, with over 1800 exhibitors and more than 100 000 professional visitors to attend. This edition is witnessing a return of brands which opted for other platforms in the economic crisis. This edition too is concentrating on the concept of the past few years: allowing exhibitors ample exhibition space within delimited sectors.

Also, the exhibition site is being revamped for BASELWORLD 2013. Altogether around 430 million Swiss francs are being invested towards the revamp work. Hall 1 is being extended towards Exhibition Square, Building 3 next to the car park is being rebuilt, and the two new hall complexes are being linked via a two-storey building above Exhibition Square. The preparatory construction work of the new halls was completed in mid-October and the actual building work for the new exhibition halls will only start after BASELWORLD 2011.

BASELWORLD 2011 is slated between March 24 to 31, 2011 at Exhibition Center Basel (Messe Basel).
