Expect a good turnout of exhibitors and visitors, as always
Organisers assure of security at the 43rd BGJF

In response to the recent political unrest in Bangkok, organisers of the 43rd Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair (BGJF), scheduled to be held between February 25 – March 1, 2009, at the Challenger Hall, Impact, are assuring the participants and exhgibitors of security and the event and during their stay. Security being a major concern, is being addressed with uptmost accuracy and readiness, the organisers explain.

Mr. Somchai Phornchindarak CEO of BGJF urged those with plans to travel to the 43rd BGJF, that there the situation is stable and exhibitors can do their normal business visit as usual. “We understand that the situation is now resolved long before the opening of the 43rd BGJF, and we will continue to monitor the situation very closely,” said Mr. Somchai.

The issue over closure of Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang airports in Bangkok has already been solved. Airports of Thailand confirm that commercial flights will resume at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport and as per the authority, all systems will be checked before the airport resumes full operations. While the three related agencies, Airports of Thailand (AOT), the Civil Aviation Department and the Customs Department, were told to be ready to start operations. With the most important national holiday looming, it is predictable that order will be restored and the Royal Thai Government would uphold the democratic system in reslving the current problem.

Mr. Somchai reiterated his concern and confidence that the 43rd BGJF will be another success as has been in the past. Twice a year, BGJF will host around 30,000 major buyers from 35 countries who have confirmed to spend larger budgets, each time. The show is set to be a fruitful platform for both the visiotors and exhibitors to network and share knowledge.
