New form of carbon discovered

A form of carbon which may surpass the hardness of a diamond has been discovered by scientists, reports say. This new find can be used in mechanical, electronic, and electrochemical applications. This new find has been the discovery of researchers led by the Carnegie Institution. The research has 'created a new type of carbon material, one that is comparable to diamond in its inability to be compressed," stated the lead researcher in the team, reports say.
