NMDC prepares mining proposal in Panna, Madhya Pradesh

The National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has presented a mining proposal in Panna district of Madhya Pradesh, citing 10 million carats of diamond deposits there, reports say. The move follows an endeavour by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister for Steel, Mines, Labour and Employment, Narendra Singh Tomar, calling major public sector companies to make investments in the state in the years ahead, reports say.

The presence of diamond reserves in the area of Tikamgarh, in Madhya Pradesh has been proved by scientific data, which also states that the tiger reserve would not be harmed due to it, reports say.
