According to Lucapa Diamonds, the latest sale of seventh parcel of diamond brought to A$17.9-million the total proceeds generated to date from the sale of Lulo diamonds, weighing a total of 9 377 carats. In fact, the seventh parcel of 1 339 carats of alluvial diamonds generated gross revenues of A$2.1-million, representing an average selling price of A$1 571 per carat.
Earlier, Lucapa Diamonds had sold its sixth parcel of diamonds from the Lulo mine, in Angola, for A$5.1-million. The 1 621carat parcel achieved an average sales price of A$3 132/carat, despite softening conditions in the international diamond market.
