Kirtilal Kalidas Jewellers, one of south India’s leading retail jewellery chains and founder of Eurostar has selected Sarin Technologies’ DiaScanTM S+ polished diamond grading systems to enable its customers to ascertain the quality of the diamonds they purchase. According to Suraj Shanta kumar, Director of Kirtilals, the machines have been imported from Belgium at just under US$ 10,000 each, and will soon be available at all 10 stores of the company.

This endeavour would create awareness on diamond quality standards among customers. The Gemology Institute of America (GIA) standards were applied to larger stones, while as the purchase of smaller stones was typically done on trust until now. Customers would be able to know more about the colour, clarity, carat and cut of the diamonds they purchase along with getting a certificate from Kirtilals.

Uzi Levami, the Chief Executive Officer of Sarin stated, "We are very happy that a leading retailer like Kirtilals has placed their trust in our DiaScanTM S+, as the means by which to demonstrate to their customers the quality of the diamond being purchased. We are especially excited about this groundbreaking development, as it confirms the validity of our newly launched Diamond Assay Service (DAS), introduced in the U.S. just two months ago, which is based on this exact same equipment. This is an example of a key market player almost leading us in innovation with our own products!”
