Kiran Gems organises the Kiran Premier League on the theme ‘Play for Cause’

Kiran Gems, the world’s largest manufacturer of diamonds, organised cricket event - the Kiran Premier League from January 24 – 26, 2015. This three day cricket tournament was organised with the motto, “Play for Cause” with participants including company directors Dinesh Lakhani and Rajesh Lakhani, Varun Lakhani (Partner Kiran Jewels- India) along with the employees.

Kiran Gems collaborated with the Umang Foundation and will donate funds raised through the tournament for providing potable drinking water facilities and health checkups for children in over 50 government recognised schools. The diamantaire has been actively involved in supporting the causes of education, health and welfare, and society in general. Director of Kiran Gems, Dinesh Lakhani said, “Ours is a cricket loving nation and hence, we found it befitting to pledge our support towards society by organising a cricket tournament in support of humanity.” Director, Rajesh Lakhani said, “Also, the tournament serves as a good platform for our employees to unwind, aids in employee team building and fosters our “Play for Cause” initiative. It is a perfect blend of purpose and entertainment.”

Twelve teams were created to play 33 matches over three days. The teams included employees and the top level management, and office assistants. Awards were presented to the winning team, runners-up and individual performances. The winning team and runners-up team members generously contributed their match earnings to Umang Foundation.
