John Lewis opens one of the biggest shops, of 250,000 ft, in Birmingham

A new £35million Birmingham store was opened by John Lewis, which is one of the largest stores opened in the last four years. The store, which is spread over 250,000 ft and provides employment to around 650 people, is located at the newly-renovated New Street Station.

The opening assumes significance in view of the fact that John Lewis Birmingham has been chosen to debut several new services and concepts, including fashion and lifestyle concept Loved & Found, and the first John Lewis-branded Spa, & Beauty.

The managing director of John Lewis was ecstatic on the occasion and said, “Birmingham is a city which we have wanted to be a part of for many years and the New Street Station and Grand Central development offered us the perfect opportunity to make this a reality.”

“Our new Birmingham regional flagship shop is a bold expression of the very best of John Lewis in 2015 and it is particularly exciting that customers will be able to step directly from New Street Station.”
