Jewellery Week to kick off in Barcelona in October

A jewellery week in Barcelona featuring two shows - ESPAIJOIA and JOYA, is taking place between 17th to 20th October, brining to the fore artists, designers, national and international brands from the jewellery branch.

During this four days Barcelona will exhibit the best of creativity, technique, design and professionalism in jewellery, combined with an agenda of conferences, exhibitions, workshops for children, national and international awards, new products' presentations and services with the latest technology, informal evening events, packed for professionals and the public.

Espaijoia, a meeting of new and established professionals. - During the third edition of the exhibition for newcomers and established professionals of the branch, the José Arquero Award for young designers of the best schools will be handed out, along with a contemporary jewellery exhibition of the Contemporary Jewellery Yearbook, with the most famous international artists, will take place. Master lessons and shows by artisans, conferences by the great professionals of the branch as well as workshops for kids and other activities are slated in this show.

ESPAIJOIA, the jewelry Mediterranean Meeting, is a new concept of professional event which is focused on getting in contact of the professionals of the jewellery branch. It takes from 17th to 20th October in the sala Marqués de Comillas of the Drassanes Reials of Barcelona.

JOYA, the best selection of contemporary jewelry's artists - JOYA reaches its fifth edition presenting the best selection of international artists and a wide panorama of trends through galleries and creators who make of jewels art. There will be 40 individual artists from 22 countries, three groups from Portugal, Italy and Brazil, three Galleries (La Basílica, Alchimia y Legnica) and 10 schools take part in the actual edition. Two special exhibitions will be organized which are dedicated to Jorge Manilla from México and to the illustrator Berto Martinez. There will also be three conferences held. What is new, is the creation of Off JOYA with the participation of 12 galleries from all Barcelona. Furthermore, La Basilica Award will be hand out which awards the best artist with 1.000 euro; the Alchimia Award to the best contestant of a school including a stay in the famous Alchimia school of Florence and finally the Arte y Joya International Award handed out by Grupo Duplex and their magazine which awards an artist taking part in the Contemporary Jewellery Yearbook 2013-2014. JOYA is an event open to the public which enhances relations between artists and the public exchanging their ideas and opinions. JOYA takes place from the 17th to 19th October in the usual place: the FAD Convent dels Àngels.
