Jewellery Trade Dubai scheuled for December

The Dubai International Jewellery Week (formerly known as Watch & Jewellery Dubai) will be focusing deeper on the jewellery sector in 2007. The organisers Dubai World Trade Centre have created a three series event including The Jewellery Trade Dubai (the niche B2B platform), amongst the other two ongoing formats of Areeq Dubai and the Jewellery Collections Dubai (retail specific).

The Jewellery Trade Dubai is apparently the only B2B jewellery event in the Middle East, and expects to host traders, manufacturers and suppliers from the Gulf, North Africa, India and beyond. This is in wake of Dubai’s jewellery retail trade standing at US$1.5 billion, and its gold exports expected to duble over the next five years, a growing business opportunity. It is slated to be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre between 11- 13 December 2007.

The event will offer a series of free trade seminars related to topics like finance, new products, laboratory procedures and emerging markets. Moaz Barakat of the World Gold Council, Russell Shor of Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and Roland Loire of International Gemological Institute (IGI) are listed as speakers fro the event. Leading companies already exhibiting at Jewellery Trade Dubai include some of the biggest names in the market, such as AMC, DDE, Dhamani, Dhruvstar, DMCC, Renaissance Diamonds and Shrenuj.
