Jaipur Jewellery Show to be held at JECC, Sitapura

Popularly known as the ‘December Show’, the Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) is being organised this year, at the newly created Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC) at Sitapura from 20 December to 23 December this year.

On the occasion of the exhibitors’ meet of the 12th edition of the JJS – the Convener, Mr. Vimal Chand Surana mentioned the reason for the change of the Hotel Rajmahal Palace which had been the venue for the show for the past 10 years, to the new JECC was the ever increasing popularity of the event followed by increased participants. The Hotel Rajmahal Palace did not have adequate space to accommodate all the exhibitors. Each year there used to be a long waiting list with some jewellers being deprived of participation. At the new venue with JECC having all the modern amenities, it is envisaged that the JJS can increase to the tune of 25 percent each year, said Mr. Surana.

The Secretary of the JJS, Mr. Rajiv Jain informed over 250 jewellers at the Exhibitors’ Meet that the JECC will have a whopping 1 lakh square feet pillar less hall in which as many as 500 booths will be setup. The exhibitors at the show this year will find better flooring, lighting, carpets, lounge as well as parking and toilets facilities. As many as 5000 cars can be parked and the security arrangements will be further enhanced.

It is to be recalled that the exhibition site, which is 17 km from the Ajmeri Gate on the Tonk Road, is the same venue where a number of Stonemarts have been organized. Mr. Jain further informed that a shuttle service will operate on each day from Ram Niwas Bagh, Investment Ground and Ram Leela Ground to take the visitors to the show site.

Earlier in the beginning the Joint Secretary and the Media Coordinator of JJS, Mr. Ajay Kala said that during the show jewellery, stones, publications, machineries will be displayed. In fact, there will be a separate section for machineries. The new venue will take the JJS to a new level, said Mr. Kala.
