JOVELLA 2013 – a destination for originality and drama in jewellery

JOVELLA 2013, Tel Aviv’s international jewelry exhibition, promises to be the destination for jewelry with original design and dramatic flair. The 10th anniversary show, to be held on July 2 -3, 2013 at Tel Aviv’s Trade Fairs and Convention Center, will feature some of Israel’s most creative young designers, many of them women. All of her handmade items reveal her very eclectic taste, a common thread in her designs is her flare to create items with a strong presence. He jewellery coordinates various influences – be it colours, gemstones, regions. She experiments with materials, techniques and styles.

Roni Statement Roni Melinek’s romantic handmade designs seem to recall an earlier, more refined period. She forms her dramatic pieces using antique laces as the base, and then adds fabrics, appliqués, rare beads and pearls. While combining the vintage with the avant-garde, Roni’s designs are harmonious. All of her pieces are made by hand, not by machine and they are each unique.

Karen Ashkenzi, designer of fashion and evening jewelry, has a streak of spontaneity in her designs. She applies colored beads, leaves, stones and shells, creating unique pendants, necklaces and brooches. Her designs appeal to the strong woman open to bold colors and shapes. She explores the potential of different materials. Her favorite techniques include cold enamel, knitting and stringing, gold-filled work, silver creation, combinations of shells, threading and crushed beads, and more.
