JOVELLA 2012 slated for July

The 9th edition of JOVELLA, Israel’s international jewelry and diamond exhibition is expected to host a promising line up of exhibitors in diamonds and jewellery, along with some new segments like the Avenue of Young Designers this year. The event is slated on July 3 – 4, 2012 in Tel Aviv.

JOVELLA 2012 will include 200 exhibitors from the sections of loose diamonds, gold jewelry, jewelry set with diamonds or precious stones, silver jewelry and fashion jewelry. Visitors will experience a segment of new talent at the Avenue of Young Designers which is devoted to young Israeli jewelry designers showing original gold, silver and diamond jewelry. These designers have been trained in the country’s leading design schools and will offer a fresh approach to jewelry as “wearable art” at the show. Also, there will be an exhibition of jewelry designed and manufactured by Ethiopian immigrant students of the ABSchool within the Yvel Design Center in Jerusalem. The Genesis (Majmaria in Amharic) collection encompasses pendants, earrings, bracelets and rings made of brass and plated with 24K gold. Each of the designs incorporates a special message in Amharic, sometimes hidden on the inside or the back of the piece. The ABSchool, sponsored by Yvel and non-profit organization Yedid, helps Ethiopian immigrants learn a profession and find jobs in the jewelry manufacturing industry.

JOVELLA is organized by the Stier Group, and sponsored by the Israel Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor, the Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI), the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute, the Israel Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association and the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce.

Last year, about 12,000 jewelry professionals and buyers visited JOVELLA 2011. Over 150 companies exhibited, and over 190 buyers and visitors from abroad visited the show.
