It’s time to meet again at Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong!

Premier mid-year B2B buying event gears up for long-awaited comeback from 22 to 25 June at HKCEC
It’s time to meet again at Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong!

Asia’s top mid-year B2B fine jewellery event is primed for its highly anticipated comeback in Hong Kong this June, Informa Markets Jewellery announced today.

Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong (JGA), previously known as the June Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair, is taking over the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from 22 to 25 June 2023 – marking the first time that the show is returning to its true form since 2019.

“We have waited three long years to say this: Welcome back to JGA!” said David Bondi, Senior Vice President of Informa Markets in Asia. “With the city reopening its borders with Mainland China and the rest of the world, JGA is more than ready to welcome everyone back to Hong Kong – the B2B sourcing capital of the global jewellery trade.”

This year, JGA will be back in its most familiar configuration as the city, with all its unique strengths and advantages, firmly pursues a path towards normalcy, and resumes its rightful place as Asia’s premier meeting point for the jewellery industry. Starting from 1 March, Hong Kong has ended its mask mandate – lifting its last major restriction imposed during the pandemic.

“To many of our loyal show attendees, revisiting JGA might feel like a homecoming,” said Celine Lau, Director of Jewellery Fairs at Informa Markets Jewellery. “We are all looking forward to making up for all that was missed in the last three years – the thrill of product discovery, the joy of networking and the excitement of being a part of one of our community’s biggest gatherings in Hong Kong since the pandemic.”

JGA will present thousands of collections spanning finished jewellery, diamonds, coloured gemstones and pearls, among others, and highlight sections dedicated to equipment, packaging and technology solutions. Buyers will not only discover the latest product releases; they will also gain access to a wealth of market intelligence and industry connections.

“JGA has always been known for its rich and diverse selection of finished jewellery, and as a sourcing destination for precious materials,” Lau said. “Professional buyers will be delighted to learn that our signature pavilions will be back as well, led by CORE, Fine Gem and Fine Design.”

The CORE Pavilion hosts Hong Kong’s major jewellery makers, highlighting the city’s standing as a jewellery design and manufacturing hub. The Fine Gem Pavilion (FGP) brings together renowned suppliers who will present premium-quality diamonds, coloured gemstones and pearls coveted by fine jewellery manufacturers, legacy brands and collectors. Prestigious jewellers, meanwhile, will launch design-focused collections and one-of-a-kind creations at the Fine Design Pavilion (FDP).

JGA’s engaging roster of exhibitors includes diamond manufacturers Diarough (Hong Kong) Limited, Kunming International Limited and Sheetal (Far East) Limited; coloured gemstone vendors Blue Gems Co Ltd, Emerald Mines Co Ltd and Paul Wild OHG; pearl suppliers Alain Boite SAS, J Ocean Pearl Jewellery Limited and Ikeda Pearl Co, and jewellers Alexander Laut Co Limited, Gorgoglione Srl and Kuwayama Corporation, to name a few.

Milestone year

Further adding excitement and energy to JGA is the unveiling of Informa Markets Jewellery’s power-packed programme commemorating the 40th edition of its sister show – Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW) in September – and the 40th anniversary of its flagship jewellery publication, JNA. Formerly called the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair, JGW is marking its milestone year by honouring its very own “Extraordinary 40” – 40 exceptional individuals who have made a significant positive impact on the industry and their communities – and delivering a rich line-up of original content, including a “treasure hunt” that fittingly shines the spotlight on the ruby – the traditional 40th anniversary gemstone, and a seminar and panel discussion series, among others.

The “Extraordinary 40” champions are also the recipients of the 2023 Jewellery World Awards (JWA), one of the industry’s most prestigious accolades. Selected by Informa’s international team comprising in-house experts and independent third parties who possess deep knowledge and experience in distinct areas of the industry, the Awardees span the globe and cover the full spectrum of the jewellery world, including jewellery design and manufacturing; core product categories such as diamonds, coloured gemstones, pearls and technology, among others, and advocacies and outstanding business practices encompassing social responsibility, sustainability, education and innovation. The Award recipients will be revealed from late April 2023 onwards.

The September Fair is reverting to its original two-venue, product category-specific format. The jewellery materials section of the show will be hosted at the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) from 18 to 22 September 2023 while categories covering finished jewellery, packaging solutions, tools & equipment, and jewellery industry-related technologies will be presented at the HKCEC from 20 to 24 September 2023.

The engine driving a global jewellery portfolio consisting of the biggest and most iconic B2B fairs and events in Hong Kong and other key cities around the world, Informa Markets Jewellery also powers one of the industry’s most popular B2B online communities – JewelleryNet, and two of the sector’s most prestigious awards programmes – JWA and its regional edition, JWA Dubai.
