Israel’s polished diamond exports up 34% in H1

At the end of the period January – June 2011, polished diamond exports from Israel valued $4.3 billion, an increase of 34 percent (y-o-y), reports state. Also, imports of polished diamonds were up by 49.8 percent in the said six months to value $2.8 billion.

The country’s exports of rough diamonds in this period valued $2.25 billion, rising 40 percent. Imports of rough diamonds in the six months increased 37 percent to $2.5 billion, reports suggest.
