International Jewellery Design Award Poster Unveils

Organized as an associative event of India’s leading Gemstone and Jewellery Show JAS-16, the poster of the 9th International Jewellery Design Award was unveiled in Mumbai by Nirupa Bhatt, Managing Director of GIA, India in presence Manoj Singhania, Director(Education), GIA and Sanjay Kala, Convener JAS-16. The 4 day annual event JAS-16 is scheduled to be organized from 20th to 23rd August 2016, on the theme of “Tradition meets the Contemporary”.

According to the convener of JAS-16 Sanjay Kala, the International Jewellery Design Awards, supported by GIA, provides a platform to talented and creative designers of large corporate houses and freelancers, to showcase their creativity. The design awards aims to promote and foster the upcoming and budding designers and artisans in Jewellery Industry.

Adding further Kala said, the design awards will be organized in 4 categories.The Bridal Jewellery category applicable only for the Jewellery houses will have the winners felicitated with trophy and certificate. The Art Jewellery category is allowed only for the professional designers. Winners of the art Jewellery category will be honored with cash award of Rs. 51,000 while the second and third prize winner will be given Rs. 21,000 and Rs. 11,000 respectively. The winners of the Contemporary Jewellery category applicable only for the students, will be awarded with 51,000, 21,000 and 11,000 for the first, second and third prize. The Abstract Jewellery categorywill be open for all and the winners of this category will be provided with 51,000 to the 1st, 21,000 to the 2nd and 11,000 to the 3rd position winner.

 

According to Pramod Darda, member JAS committee, the last date for submitting the sketched entries for the competition is 7th July, 2016. The shortlisted candidates will be notified onmail by July 9th who would then be requested to submit the original Jewellery piece latest by August 10th.  The final winners of the competition will be declared on 13th August and will be honored during the JAS-16.
