The Indian gem and jewellery industry is being represented in a huge way at the forthcoming Jewellery Arabia 2015. The event is slated from 24 to 28 November 2015 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre. The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) is participating at the event, with a representation of 57 leading names from the Indian gems and jewellery industry. GJEPC will also have a new look for the Indian Pavilion in Jewellery Arabia 2015.

Praveenshankar Pandya, Chairman, GJEPC said, “Middle East has emerged as one of the key leading markets for gems and jewellery with currently 30 percent of the total Indian gem and jewellery exports to the region. Jewellery Arabia forms an important platform to increase trade with the region. Middle East is one of the key focus market for India and GJEPC will continue to make concerted efforts to increase its share in the market”

The Indian pavilion occupying 840 square metres of exhibition space, will be a showcase of exquisite craftsmanship and jewellery collections in high-end diamond jewellery, gold and platinum jewellery, and fine jewellery; a display of loose diamonds, studded gold jewellery, designer handmade jewellery, high-end diamond jewellery, bridal jewellery and exclusive pieces. Specific to the taste of the Middle East market, Indian participants will focus on jewellery with colour stones, sapphires, emeralds, rubies and solitaire diamonds with a new introduction this year of diamond jewellery in palladium and platinum, in different settings.

“Jewellery Preference and design sensibilities of Middle east is very similar to that of India, thus jewellery designed by India has gained substantial demand over the years” added Mr. Pandya.

This 5-day trade event will feature over 600 exhibitors from 30 nations exhibiting over 18,000 square metres, with a display of finished jewellery, luxury timepieces, precious stones, antiques, objets d’art, jewellery packaging and technology from across the globe. The exhibitors would include eminent jewellery houses and major brand names. Complementing these iconic brands are large national groups of retailers, designers and manufacturers from leading jewellery export countries.
