INTERGEM Preparations in the Final Stages Better Participation

The work of the INTERGEM 2021 project manager, Selina Schmidt, is bearing fruit: with around 30 exhibitors more than last year, the fair has seen significantly higher bookings again. 90 companies are set to present their precious offerings in the realm of coloured gemstones and diamonds, innovative and high-quality jewellery creations as well as accessories and equipment for the goldsmith and cutting fields. Exhibitors from France, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Sri Lanka, India and Denmark join with premium German exhibitors in bringing internationality back to Idar-Oberstein.

Thanks to the easing of covid regulations, more visitors will be able to enter the halls than was the case in 2020. Ticket sales are well under way. Trade visitors can purchase their tickets in advance online at intergem.de/tickets. With the requirement that all attendees are vaccinated, recovered from the virus or tested in combination with a thorough hygiene concept, fair management has worked to ensure that the event can be staged safely. According to the new covid regulations, a prescribed number of tested individuals may attend the fair in addition to those who have been vaccinated or recovered from the virus. A test centre will be set up in front of the fair hall specifically for this purpose.

There is one guest in particular that the organisers are looking forward to welcoming – the Paris-based jewellery influencer and gemmologist Katerina Perez will be visiting the INTERGEM and Idar-Oberstein for the first time. She will be a highlight of the support programme on Sunday, 26 September, with her talk on “Best practices for running Instagram for gem dealers and jewellers”, in which she will pass on her experience with the Instagram platform, where she has an impressive total of 370,000 followers. In the forum in Hall 3 there will be interesting presentations each day by gemmologists and exhibitors on a wide range of subjects.

A get-together with fine food and good wines on Friday, 24 September, and a meeting over professionally mixed cocktails on Sunday, 26 September, beginning at 5 pm respectively, will see exhibitors and visitors given the opportunity to enjoy and strengthen personal contacts once again after such a lengthy absence.

Throughout the fair the exhibition “Stiftung Jakob Bengel – watch chains and jewellery and 150 years of industrial culture” will be located in the foyer, with a wine lounge in Hall 3 offering a pleasant break from touring the fair. Jewellery shows will also be staged here each day. There are therefore many reasons for trade visitors to be sure not to miss INTERGEM 2021.
