IIJW unfolds in New Delhi

The India International Jewellery Week (IIJW), a platform established by GJEPC three years ago, to promote India as the international innovation and design destination for jewellery, unfolded in New Delhi, for the first time after three years of showcasing in Mumbai. This first Delhi edition was inaugurated by Bollywood diva and GJEPC’s brand ambassador, Sonam Kapoor inaugurated the event along with Mr. Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC, Mr. Pankaj Parekh, Vice Chairman, GJEPC, Mr. Sanjay Kothari, Convener of Promotions, Marketing & Business Development, GJEPC in the presence of other officials and dignitaries.

Seventeen brands and designers are showcasing their best in creation across 14 shows. Leading Indian brands participating include Birdichand Ghanshyamdas, PC Jewellers, Bholasons, Nazraana by Rio Tinto, Hazoorilal, CVM Exports and designers like Rosily Paul, Monica Kapoor, and Pooja Joneja. Institutes including IGI will be present to encourage their upcoming talent.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC commented, “It is a prestigious moment for all of us at the council to be hosting the IIJW for the first time in New Delhi. With the tremendous success of three editions of India International Jewellery Week in Mumbai, the stage is now set to grow much bigger and with our foray into India’s style capital, New Delhi, we will showcase the exceptional talent and craftsmanship of the designers from this region’’. The IIJW 2013, New Delhi is presented in association with PC Jewellers, Powered by IGI, Co-sponsored by Gitanjali Gems Ltd., along with media and other partners. The event is slated between 12-13 April, 2013.
