IIJS 2009 set to be a success for the industry

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) is equally optimistic about the success of this year’s Indian International Jewellery Show (IIJS)edition, as in the previous years. The Council believes this would be an opportunity to bring back the glory and success of the gem and jewellery industry, as the markets are recovering. Mr. Vasant Mehta, Chairman GJEPC said “IIJS is a great way for Indian manufacturers to display the very best they have to offer. This show helps its participants to showcase their versatility in the trade and provides a unique opportunity to form winning partnerships around the world. Even though recession undoubtedly impaired the growth of this Industry for a while but now the market is witnessing a positive change. Hopefully with the expected boost that trade would receive after IIJS, Gem & Jewellery Industry would observe a remarkable improvement and establish its former glory.”

The IIJS 2009 spreads across an area of 46,000 sqm and will host 1554 stalls under jewellery, loose stones, machinery and allied segments. It will also comprise of country pavilions of Dubai, Israel, Turkey, Thailand, Belgium, Italy and others, apart from hosting various delegates. The event is slated from August 6-10, 2009, at the NSE grounds in Mumbai. So far, an average of 18000 visitor’s (International & Domestic) have registered for the show.
