In what can be viewed as a spectacular success for the India Diamond Trading Centre at Bharat Diamond Bourse, the first SNZ to the set up in the country for displaying rough diamonds, most of its slots have been booked till June of next year. Presently, Arcos East DMCC, Dubai, UAE, a subsidiary of AK Alrosa or PJSC has been displaying diamonds belonging to the Alrosa Group at the IDTC. The viewings, which began on December 7, will close tomorrow. The goods on display ranged from boxes of 5-10-carats stones to those with smaller goods.

Earlier, renowned companies like De Beers and Rio Tinto had conducted one round of viewing each, and are planning more, while Dominion Diamond Corporation has just announced its viewing dates for the next few months.

It may be recalled that the first shipment through IDTC was carried out by Rio Tinto in mid-November. Subsequently, De Beers Auction Sales conducted viewings of auction lots at the IDTC from November 27 to December 2, 2015 where it displayed the range of goods that were part of its auction programme. These included rough diamonds that are suitable for the Forevermark programme, the Company had indicated.

Moreover, De Beers and Rio Tinto have also blocked multiple slots in 2016; it is learnt, with the next De Beers Auction Sales viewing programme scheduled for the second week of January.

As far as Dominion Diamond Marketing N.V., a subsidiary of Dominion Diamond Corporation is concerned, it has announced that its first viewings will take place from February 1-6, 2016, followed by subsequent viewings in March 7-12; April 4-9; May 23-28; June 20-25; and August1-6.
