For the first time, an official Israeli Diamond Pavilion, organized by the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) will be set up at the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair. The Pavilion will host 12 leading Israeli diamond companies – including AG Diamonds, Asi Abir, Shlomo Bichachi, CTB, EMA, G. Arabov, ICS, Mirage, Mor Brothers, Regent and Sorum.

The pavilion will be located in the diamond section of the event. IDI will put up an image booth in the pavilion for buyers to be briefed about conducting business with Israel and register for the IDI portal site. An online mini-site on the IDI portal site enables buyers to visit the pavilion virtually before the show and gain information about contact details of all Israeli exhibitors at the show.

According to Eli Avidar, Managing Director of IDI, “IDI believes in the Asian markets and sees the region as the most important growth area for Israeli diamonds. We have established a foothold in Asia to support this trade. Our representative office in Hong Kong, IDI - Asia Pacific, serves both Israeli diamond companies and importers in Asia,” he added. Asia features as Israel’s second largest diamond export market, accounting for over 33 percent of total polished diamond sales.

Nissim Palomo, IDI Deputy Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer, believes that the Thai market is ripe for expanding trade with the Israeli Diamond Industry, as the Thai consumer today “actively seeks the glamour of diamonds and other luxury items” he added.
