Hong Kong International Jewellery Show to expand in space for 2014 edition

Following the growing popularity of the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and the importance of the markets in Hong Kong for the global gem and jewellery industry, the organizers are ensuring the show delivers sufficient space for further development and thus solidify Hong Kong as a key trading hub for the industry and retain its leading role in exhibition of its kind.

Starting from March 2014, the Show will split into two brilliant shows at two great venues: the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and theHKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show. Finished jewellery products will be exhibited at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 5-9 March 2014 while the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show will be a specialised trade platform for loose stones and raw materials in the AsiaWorld-Expo from 3-7 March 2014. This initiative will provide dedicated trade platforms which are more professional and focused for the product categories concerned.

The 30th edition of the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, concluded in March 2013, attracting 3,341 exhibitors and 42,113 buyers from 49 & 138 countries and regions respectively, setting new exhibitor and buyer records.

As the show reached a new pinnacle of success in 2013 and given the extensive support from stakeholders through years, the demand for exhibition space is compelling.

“The brand new arrangement of ‘2 Shows 2 Venues’ will allow more exhibitors to participate, in which a greater variety of jewellery exhibits will be on feature. The two shows are perfectly timed and housed to generate a synergistic effect, maximising exhibitors’ exposure and buyers’ sourcing opportunities, and providing a perfect setting for the shows to grow and prosper’, Mr Benjamin Chau, Deputy Executive Director of HKTDC said.

In 2012, Hong Kong’s exports of precious jewellery reached US$ 7 billion, retaining its status as the world's premier trading hub for jewellery.

IN the new format, the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre will host Finished Jewellery Products, Jewellery Accessories, Jewellery Display and Packaging Material, Tools & Equipment, Trade Publication & Service. It will include Special Premium Zones: Antique & Vintage Jewellery Galleria, Designer Galleria, Hall of Extraordinary, Hall of Fame, Hall of Jade Jewellery, Hall of Time and World of Glamour. The HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show at the AsiaWorld-Expo will host exhibitors in Loose Diamonds, Pearls, Precious Stones and Semi-precious Stones and will house Hall of Fine Diamond and Treasures of Nature.
