High expectations from VICENZAORO Charm

Expectations are running high for the forthcoming VICENZAORO Charm 2011, slated between 21 to 25 May, 2011. This platform which defines many jewellery and fashion trends is expecting to host about 1,400 companies, and will continue the far-reaching innovation strategy initiated in January with the FDV 2011/15 project at VICENZAORO First. The new cross-fertilizing trajectories between segments dedicated to women and men of the third millennium, who bring style and design to their daily universe, will be defined as a result: the jewel is at the centre of the new approach for communicating with contemporary consumers. Networking being a key activity here, operators are likely to gain from the appointments: suggestions, trends, meetings, fashion, exhibitions and workshops.

The Show will open on the theme Chi ha paura?/Who's afraid?" a question posed by the Dutch designer, Gijs Bakker – founder of Droog Design, one of the most important movements in international design. Bakker coined the name for his collection of 91 pieces of jewels created along with the greatest international designers, from Ron Arad to Studio Job. The collection will be displayed in the old centre of the Palladian town during VICENZAORO Charm.

The event will be introduced by Fiera di Vicenza President, Roberto Ditri, with contributions from Diane Pernet, blogger, icon of international fashion and expert in contemporary jewels; Gaetano Marzotto, Chairman of Pitti Immagine and a member of the Valentino and Hugo Boss boards, and Diego Dolcini, luxury footwear designer. The discussion will be moderated by Giusi Ferrè, one of Italy's leading fashion journalists. They will all be guests of Fiera di Vicenza for an event which will reflect on cross-fertilization as a driver of jewellery innovation.

The Show will host its "Trend Vision" area, a real "Creative Workshop" dedicated to the visual definition of trends for orienting companies, stylists and operators, to gain insights into new creative thoughts. The workshop is intended to reposition Italian-made ware as a source of research and promote the culture of innovation in the jewellery and luxury sector.

The Show is expecting a large gathering of delegates with a focus on Asia, with India, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam and the Middle East with Dubai, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain. But Canada, Australia, Great Britain, Brazil, Morocco, Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Baltic Republics and the former Soviet Republics will also be present. Around 500 members of international delegations will be guests at VICENZAORO Charm.
