Harry Winston sues local jeweler

Renowned jeweler Harry Winston has filed a suit against local jeweler Matt Khatib, alleging that his store named M.K. Winston at Newburyport, Mass. is infringing Harry Winston’s trademark.

According to reports, Harry Winston has alleged copyright infringement, stating that it has claim to the trademarks “Winston” and “Harry Winston” for jewelry and polished diamonds, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court in Boston this month.

Khatib had been approached by Harry Winston’s attorney’s to have the name changed But Khatib instead is willing to take the matter to the court, reports add.
