In its diamond cutting and polishing team, Hari Krishna Export Pvt. Ltd. has employed two female employees. In this section of the industry which usually is dominated by the male employees, Hari Krishna Exports believes its move is towards setting a change.

Ghanshyam Dholakia, MD, Hari Krishna Export Pvt. Ltd. said, "We have taken up a mission of training women into the art of cutting and polishing diamonds. With years of experience and knowledge an expert artisan would take five days to precisely cut and polish a triple excellent cut diamond.” If the symmetry of all the 57 facets of a diamond is perfect and the cut and polish are excellent, then the diamond is said to be a triple excellent cut diamond.

The two female employees are pursuing training in diamond cutting and polishing at the company and have processed two triple excellent cut diamonds in a record eight days. One of the employees Kajal Sorathia is disabled, while the other is Jalpa Narola, a telephone operator few years back. Both have become the first women diamond artisans to have polished excellent cut diamonds weighing 1.06 carat and 1.02 carat diamonds, respectively, in a record time.

Mr. Dholakia further added that, “Both Kajal and Jalpa have become the first female diamond artisans in the world to have achieved this feat in just eight working days with a training period of eight months behind them. This only proves the point that if you are determined and work positively towards your target you will certainly achieve it."

Hari Krishna Exports is a diamond manufacturing company with a global reach. It is the only diamond manufacturer and DTC Sightholder to achieve the responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) Certification in India and the only recipient of GJEPC’S award for 11th consecutive year from 2003–2013. It ensured direct rough supply from the DTC, Rio Tinto, DDC (earlier BHP) and Alrosa, and is the official suppliers of CanadaMark and ForeverMark.
