Google and LVMH have signed a cooperation agreement to join hands and oppose the advertising and promotions and sale of counterfeit products on the internet, reports say. This development follows the two entities settling their 10-year legal dispute against each other, reports add. LVMH had taken Google into a legal fight 10 years ago, stating that Google infringed upon its trademarks and Google Adwords key words offering service was used by counterfeiters to sell products. Having called peace between each other, both entities will now work for a common goal to tackle sale of counterfeit items.
LVMH believes this move is one towards providing a more secure and engaging digital environment, protecting brands online and offline.
