Gem Vision India 2012, a special edition of the annual trend and design book from Swarovski Gems dedicated to “that most beautiful, fascinating and passionate country, India” was launched by Member of Parliament Priya Dutt at a special function at Hotel Renaissance yesterday. The book is a “homage to the creative dynamism of India’s diverse cultural identities” and “explores the superb creativity of its designers”, according to Swarovski Gems. Celebrity guests at the function included Sabah Ali Khan and many others.

The collections from different Indian designers and companies were showcased at a glittering fashion show by top supermodels Bruna Abdullah, Alessia Raut, Natasha Suri (Miss India 2006), Neha Hinge (Miss India International 2010), Nicole Alvares (Miss India 2010 finalist), Shruthi Agarwal and Hrishant Goswami (from Big Boss, Season 4) and others. Shriya Saran, Celina Jaitley, Urvashi Sharma, Giselle Monteiro and Tanisha Mukherjee were the showstoppers in the various segments.

The design themes of Gem Visions India 2012 are Neo-Tradition, Sensation, Pure Innovation and Creativity, and the design directions are Passionate India, Studio, Fantasy, Luminescence and Fiction.
