GemeWizard launches online grading

GemeWizard had made it easy for traders and manufacturers to accurately determine the colour of a gem stone, when it developed a system for the same. Now it has decided to launch this initiative online. The service is called as GemSquare Lite, and can be accessed free of charge on www.gemewizard.com. GemSquare Lite enables the trader to accurately describe a gemstone's color, and then transfer that information to a third party by email.

The system provides an array of 31 master colour hues, with each visible in six tones, and each of those in six levels of saturation. Gem colors are described using standard GIA terminology and GemeWizard's alphanumeric Color Code. It generates an email message enabling the color information to be sent to a third party. The system has been endorsed by GIA Education, and since 2006 has been incorporated into the GIA curriculum.

This facility by GemeWizard has been timed in close sync with the Tucson Gem Show season which is about to commence in Arizona. "Our goal is to provide anybody handling colored gemstones and fancy colored diamonds a common language by which he or she can communicate color information to colleagues, clients and suppliers," said Menahem Sevdermish, GemeWizard's founder and developer. "By making the GemeSquare Lite available on our website, we have provided the industry with tools to make this dream of a common color language a reality."

Those clients who had earlier purchased the original GemeSquare software, can upgrade to a higher version - GemeSquare 2.0. It includes an application called GemeSampler Lite, which allows one to scan a digital photograph of a colored gem and then automatically assign its color description and GemeWizard alphanumeric Color Code. GemeWizard, as reports say will be a participant at the 2008 Tucson Gem Shows, which will run February 6-11.
