The member directory for 2012 boasted a new increase of upto 650 members across India,.
The trade body also felicitated artisans as a symbol of India’s Heritage Jewellery Making Art, keeping alive the art of Handmade Jewellery Making. GJTCI President Mr Shantibhai Patel announced support of Rs. 50,000/- for any accidental death of a member or artisan and financial help towards medical and educational needs of artisans.
The event saw gathering of leading jewellers and diamond merchants of Ahmedabad and other cities, and officials from the Industry Commissionerate & DIC- Ahmedabad. Dr. Chatterjee - Director- Centre for Entrepreneurship Development was invited as chief guest to the event, along with Ex-Mrs Universe Ms. Jimmy Nanda.
The GJTCI is a trade body of India’s gem and jewellery industry, supporting growth of the industry in various ways. It serves as a common platform for companies interested in business expansion and facilitates keeping them abreast with latest industry developments in markets and technology that occur worldwide.
