GJEPC to hold Signature IIJS in February 2017

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) is preparing to host the 10th edition of Signature IIJS 2017 in early February 2017. The event will slated between 7-9th February at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.

Also, the 4th edition of India Gem & Jewellery Machinery Expo (IGJME) – one of the leading gem and jewellery (G&J) technology fairs - will be held in conjunction with Signature IIJS on the same dates and at the same venue.

Signature IIJS is built and grown into a prominent showcase of premium jewellery creations in India. It features well defined sections of Diamonds, Gemstones, Gold and studded Jewellery. Couture jewellery by the leading manufacturers of the country is a key highlight of the show. The edition next year is poised to witness more than 550 exhibitors, 1000+ stalls and draw 13000 visitors from 455 + cities, towns, pan India and 55 + countries (9000 visitors pre-registered already).

Owing to the presentation of the Government’s Union Budget being preponed, and the prevailing socio-economic market conditions, the National Exhibition Sub Committee of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) has decided to reschedule the show date/timings and reorganize the floor plan for better convenience of the visitors and making the show compact. Business hours on the first two days of the show have been extended until 8pm, while on the third day it is until 6pm.

The Show’s duration has been reduced from four days over the weekend, to three weekdays, as announced earlier.

All the booths of IGJME are being re-located to a new location in Hall No. 1 with new Entry and Exit points separately from IIJS Signature. As a concession to visitors impacted by the recent demonetization scenario, Phase 1 of Visitor Registration has been extended up to 31st January 2017 (Phase II of Visitor registration has been withdrawn). The charges for registration fees as per Phase III will be applicable from 1st February 2017.

Mr. Praveenshankar Pandya, Chairman, GJEPC, said, “In the 50th anniversary year of the Council, Signature IIJS, which is India’s top-of-the-line jewellery show, completes a decade of showcasing the best jewellery collections crafted by over 500 of the country’s leading manufacturers. Signature IIJS demonstrates that India’s jewellery manufacturing strengths are now established as a reliable and competitive source for retailers and consumers from across the world. The global trade bases their buying cycles around these dates to replenish their inventories and get insights/perspective on future styles, forecasts and trendspotting.”

He added, “IGJME, one of the leading gem and jewellery technology fairs, showcases the latest product innovation and technological advancements to boost the quality and quantity of production requirements. IGJME, over the years, has emerged as one of the most technologically advanced show of the global industry.”

Buyer delegations from countries such as UK, Iran, Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Lebanon, China, Hong Kong, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh & Nepal amongst others are expected to visit the show. Technology & Educative Seminars are also being organised for the first two days of the show. An exclusive ‘By Invitation Only’ Networking Evening has been organized for exhibitors and buyers to further explore networking opportunities.
