The India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) 2011, a platform that explores and defines new jewellery design trends, showcased a preview of young raw design talent – as the International Gemological Institute (India) for the first time offered four of its most deserving students the opportunity to showcase their jewellery designs at the IIJW.

International Gemological Institute was pleased to offer its students an industry-led platform that hosts big players of this industry including diamond and gold jewellers, jewellery designers, diamond manufacturers and other prominent individuals from the diamond trade and industry in attendance.

The collections were crafted in designs that had both contemporary patterns and traditional classic design influences. The jewellery was designed by IGI students and manufactured by four prominent jewellers: Floraison Collection - designed by Ms. Hemali Dholakiya and executed by Apranje, Bangalore; Rangrez - designed by Ms Natasha Chandiraman and executed by Emerald Jewels Industry Ltd ,Coimbatore; Khushboo Collection - designed by Ms. Hetal Baxi and executed by Shubham Motiwala, Mumbai; and Ecstacy The Royal Collection, designed by Ms. Nidhi Chaudhary and executed by Razwada – Mumbai.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Tehmasp Printer, Managing Director, IGI - India said, “IGI is proud of its students participating in the IIJW 2011. Moreover it is pleased to offer a platform for young professionals in an industry that takes pride in increasing consumer confidence through knowledge. We thank the jewelers who have agreed to be part of this endeavour to promote talent in the industry.”

IIJW is an initiative of the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council to display India's finest in jewellery, be it design, innovation, craftsmanship, technology or quality to customers around the globe.

In India, the IGI School of Gemology is located in Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Surat where courses touch various aspects of this industry including Polished Diamonds, Rough Diamonds, Colored Stones, Pearls, and Jewelry Design Courses to Retails Sales Development Programs.
